It is my privilege to write this letter of reference for Ms. Eriko Anderson, owner/operator of the Cozy House Family Daycare. My son, attended her daycare from 2014-2016 from the age of 1.5 to 3.5 years old. While our time with Eriko was several years ago, her impact on my son and our family was significant and I was very happy to provide this letter of support when she recently reached out.

Eriko utilizes the Montessori method and pedagogy in her daycare. She is extremely well organized and an excellent communicator. During my son’s time at Cozy House, we received regular monthly newsletters outlining the activities that the children were involved in, including tips on what they were discussing, topics they were learning, and suggestions for things we could continue at home. The environment that she created at her daycare was extremely welcoming and inclusive, with an appropriate level of structure and transparent expectations for all children and families. We felt very safe and supported having George in her care and also were happy and excited to see his growth and development in those early years.

Eriko provided great examples for my son in his early years of how to be a good friend and good citizen to others. We still have the booklets that she created to celebrate his birthdays that included lots of photos of his activities with friends as well as drawings and well-wishes from the other children. When we left Cozy House daycare, she prepared a full good-bye booklet for my son that included drawings, photos, as well as custom hand-drawn pages with lyrics to his favorite song from day care. Our departure from Cozy House was only due to our family moving cities, and had we stayed in Kelowna I know we would have been very happy to continue with her care and educational program for our children.

Eriko shared that she is exploring opportunities in the counseling and/or coaching fields as her next steps for her own career. As a physician and educator, myself, I am confident that she has the skills and qualities to excel in any of these future opportunities or any field of her choosing.
